not-yet-sound draws attention to the personal and individual processes that predate yet constitute sonic experience. It explores how memory and perception shape the experience of sound, turning toward aspects of attention, intuition and individual dispositions.
Cones, conical horns and funnels become the empty vessels to hold those experiences. Their potential as an ‘instrument of listening’, a tool that simultaneously focuses and expands the personal perception of sound, makes them the central element in this work.
